Welcome
My name is Kate VanPelt. I am a wife, a mother of four, a grandmother of one and a 7th grade math teacher. I love the Lord, am an active prayer warrior, and Christian music gets me through each and every day. In the beginning, I would randomly open the bible, read a passage, write a prayer and hit shuffle on my music. I would be amazed at how the Lord would send me a perfect song each and every day. It was His answer to my prayer. That’s when I began referring to Him as “Papa”. We had created a very close, special relationship.
>Psalm 138 became alive in my life.
Four years ago, after unexpectedly losing my mom, I embarked on a journey to read the Bible from beginning to end. I was not intending to write a book. Each morning, I would read a few chapters of the Bible and journal a verse that stood out to me. Then, after meditating on all my prayer intentions, I would write a prayer and hit shuffle on my music. The Lord continued to answer each prayer by sending me the most beautiful song which I noted in my journal. When I finished the Bible, I looked at all my journals and realized God had given me the most beautiful gift to share with the world.
Prayers to Papa: A Journey through the Bible was published November 28, 2023.
Prayers to Papa is a tool connecting scripture, prayer, music, worship and journaling to create an intimate relationship with Christ, our Savior, Redeemer and Friend, the one whom I call “Papa”.
I pray that your journey begins today.
May God lead your path,
Kate

Day 1 – A Journey through Romans
Read Romans 1–2. For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools. Romans 1:21–22 Dear God, Search my...
Day 2 – A Journey through Romans
Read Romans 3–4. David says the same thing when he speaks of the blessedness of the one to whom God credits righteousness apart from works: "Blessed are those whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the one whose sin the Lord will never...
