Read James 1–2.

Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.
James 1:19

Mercy triumphs over judgment.
James 2:13

Dear God,
It’s so easy to listen with ears that are not listening but rather forming a response. It’s so easy to lash out without hearing. It’s so easy to become angry or just stay angry for that matter. It’s so easy to judge. Lord, today, help me to not take the easy way. You never did. Help me to follow your example. Help me to really listen to others and to hear their words from their perspective. Help me to be merciful and loving, especially when it’s hard. Help me to release any anger I have. Anger is exhausting, and my joy is found in your peace.
I love you, Papa.
