For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.

Dear God,
These words bring so much comfort. So many bodies are ravaged with disease, addiction, depression, and mental illness. Help us to focus on our eternal houses with you. Help us to lean into your presence and trust. Help us to live in faith. Give us the strength to not destroy the earthly tents that you gave us. Help us to be joyful when depression and anxiety strike. Help us to not be tempted by drugs, alcohol, food, or whatever addiction torments us. Help us to honor our bodies. For those on my prayer list who are bravely battling cancer and disease, grant them the peace of knowing that nothing can destroy their heavenly home with you, and let that fact cover them with peace, hope, and rejoicing.
