Read Acts 6–7.
When Moses was forty years old, he decided to visit his own people, the Israelites. He saw one of them being mistreated by an Egyptian, so he went to his defense and avenged him by killing the Egyptian. Moses thought that his own people would realize that God was using him to rescue them, but they did not.
Acts 7:23–25
Dear God,
Thank you for having a plan for each of our lives from conception to death. Help us, Lord, to trust you and to follow your will. How many times have we messed up the plan you have for us (like Moses) by thinking we know more or that we know best? Thank you, Jesus, for always making whatever we do “good” in some way. I look back to a bad day. It was scary. It was uncomfortable. But it was your plan to lead us to and through today. Father God, hold us close. Ease our sufferings, and help us to focus on the big plan and all that is to come in your glory.
I love you, Papa.
