Jesus Has Risen

On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ ” Then they remembered his words. Luke 24:1-8

Dear God,
We were empty, drowning in sin, guilt and shame with no hope for a future with You. You sent Your only, beloved Son to the earth to be born of a virgin in a manger. He spent 33 years teaching, serving and showing us how to love. He accepted all the weight of our crushing sins both past and present and through His body nailed them to a cross defeating death and darkness once and for all. He was laid in a tomb which was sealed with huge stone as His people once again lost faith, felt defeated and thought the story was over. Waiting can be so difficult. The unknown is such a scary place to be. Having faith takes courage, patience and perseverance. The women went to the tomb that Sunday, saw the stone was moved away and found the tomb EMPTY! They were met by two angels asking, “Why do you look for the living among the dead?” Jesus was alive! The tomb was emptied so we could be filled with His spirit, life, love and forgiveness. The tomb was emptied and death was destroyed so I could live. My sin was nailed to a cross and my future with my Papa, the one who loves me more than I can even imagine, was secured. The tomb was emptied so I would no longer be empty. Praise Jesus for His life! Praise Jesus for His death! Praise our Living God forever!
I love You, Papa.

HAPPY RESURRECTION SUNDAY!
