Read John 21

Jesus said to them, “Bring some of the fish you have just caught.” So Simon Peter climbed back into the boat and dragged the net ashore. It was full of large fish, 153, but even with so many the net was not torn. Jesus said to them, “Come and have breakfast.” None of the disciples dared ask him, “Who are you?” They knew it was the Lord. Jesus came, took the bread and gave it to them, and did the same with the fish. This was now the third time Jesus appeared to his disciples after he was raised from the dead.
John 21:10-14

Dear God,
When Jesus appeared to the disciples after His death, He looked different. They didn’t recognize Him at first but realized it was Him after they heard His words or saw his actions. How many times do we encounter Jesus throughout our days and do not recognize Him? Do we even take the time to listen to hear familiar words or see familiar actions? Today, I ask for forgiveness for the times I have ignored Jesus’s presence in my life. I ask for forgiveness for the times I focused on my problems and self-pity when He stood beside me and I didn’t even notice. Thank you, God, for never giving up on me. I also want to thank you for the times that I did notice when a stranger was placed in my life at the perfect time, saying exactly what I needed to hear or doing exactly what I needed done. Help me to be like the disciples and not question but just know that it’s you. Today, Lord, I will look for you, listen for you, see you, and know!
I love you, Papa.
