Read John 19:28-42

Later, knowing that everything had now been finished, and so that Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, “I am thirsty.” A jar of wine vinegar was there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put the sponge on a stalk of the hyssop plant, and lifted it to Jesus’ lips. When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
John 19:28-30

Dear God,
You gave up Your Son for our salvation. He gave up His spirit which resides in us at this very moment. Jesus finished the war. We walk this earth with battles raging within us. We battle depression, anxiety, addiction, loneliness, disease, shame, guilt, anger and despair. Remind my heart that Jesus won the war and claimed victory over all of these battles when He took His last breath on the cross. With His last breath, we received the breath of everlasting life. In this world, we face so many battles that seem will never end. But the victory of Christ is Heaven. It is there we will find perfect peace with our Maker. Today, allow me to feel Your spirit stirring inside of me. Help me to feel You walk beside me each every step I take today and in this life until I meet You at the victory party in Heaven. Thank You for loving us and finishing the war on earth once and for all.
I love You, Papa.
