Read John 11:45-57

Therefore many of the Jews who had come to visit Mary, and had seen what Jesus did, believed in him. But some of them went to the Pharisees and told them what Jesus had done. Then the chief priests and the Pharisees called a meeting of the Sanhedrin.
“What are we accomplishing?” they asked. “Here is this man performing many signs. If we let him go on like this, everyone will believe in him, and then the Romans will come and take away both our temple and our nation.” John 11:45-48

Dear God,
You physically showed Your glory with delivering sight to the blind, feeding thousands with five small loaves and two fish, making wine out of water, healing the sick, raising the dead and driving out demons. You told the woman at the well everything she ever did and You also told here that she was still loved. Why was this not enough? Instead of being filled with excitement and exhilaration that the Messiah was here, many were consumed with anxiety, dread and fear of losing power, status and land. I would like to think that if You came back today, we would receive You differently but would we? Would we leave everything with excitement and follow You or hold tightly to our things? Would we be more fearful of what others might think or would we hold nothing back and praise, worship, follow and obey? Forgive us, Father, for not being all we could be. Forgive us, Father, for being more consumed with power, status and things than relationship with You or each other. What could this world be if we opened our eyes to Your glory and treated each other like You treat us with mercy, grace, forgiveness and love? Let me be that reminder to the world today.
I love You, Papa.
