Read John 9:24-41
Jesus heard that they had thrown him out, and when he found him, he said, “Do you believe in the Son of Man?” “Who is he, sir?” the man asked. “Tell me so that I may believe in him.” Jesus said, “You have now seen him; in fact, he is the one speaking with you.” Then the man said, “Lord, I believe,” and he worshiped him. Jesus said, “For judgment I have come into this world, so that the blind will see and those who see will become blind.” Some Pharisees who were with him heard him say this and asked, “What? Are we blind too?” Jesus said, “If you were blind, you would not be guilty of sin; but now that you claim you can see, your guilt remains.” John 9:35-41
Dear God,
What am I blind to? What am I choosing to not see? Search my heart, Lord, and help me to remove the curtain of darkness I place over things that are difficult for me to see. Allow me to see You in the eyes of a child. Allow me to see You in the homeless and the rich and everyone in between. Open my eyes to see You in the wind and the rain. Allow my soul to direct my sight instead of my eyes. Help me to trust Your plan for my life even when I can’t “see” it. Give me the strength to keep sharing Your words, Your promises and Your message even when I am tired or feeling like no one is listening. Help me to “see” all that You intend for me to see today and trust You and Your plan in the areas of my life that are blind to me. You are my provider and the orchestrator of my life. I want to see You in the light and the darkness. Give me the bold faith that I need to follow You as You guide me through my blind spots in order to show me Your glory in the light.
I love You, Papa.
