Read John 9:1-23

As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work. While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” After saying this, he spit on the ground, made some mud with the saliva, and put it on the man’s eyes. “Go,” he told him, “wash in the Pool of Siloam” (this word means “Sent”). So the man went and washed, and came home seeing. His neighbors and those who had formerly seen him begging asked, “Isn’t this the same man who used to sit and beg?” Some claimed that he was. Others said, “No, he only looks like him.” But he himself insisted, “I am the man.” John 9:4-9

Dear God,
You gave a blind man his sight. Many witnessed it and then became spiritually blinded. Why is it easier to be blind to Your love, mercy, forgiveness and grace than it is to open our eyes and hands and receive all that You so generously give to us day after day. I am surrounded by Your glory. The sun rises and sets every day. Birds fly freely and always have enough to eat. Flowers bloom. The seasons change in perfect rhythm and the stars are the most amazing light show each night. You orchestrate each moment of every day. You plan for each and every event to show Your great love for us. You planned for the moment that the blind man began seeing. Allow me to see the million little miracles around me. Allow me to not miss a moment of Your glory. Thank You for opening the eyes of this blind man to show us that our eyes have already been opened by you, but now it is our job and choice to “see”. I don’t want to have a blind mind. I want to see every miracle, every moment and every plan You have for me with the enthusiasm and excitement of this blind man seeing for the very first time. What a gift!
I love You, Papa.
