Read John 7:25-52
At that point some of the people of Jerusalem began to ask, “Isn’t this the man they are trying to kill? Here he is, speaking publicly, and they are not saying a word to him. Have the authorities really concluded that he is the Messiah? But we know where this man is from; when the Messiah comes, no one will know where he is from.” Then Jesus, still teaching in the temple courts, cried out, “Yes, you know me, and you know where I am from. I am not here on my own authority, but he who sent me is true. You do not know him, but I know him because I am from him and he sent me.” John 7:25-29
Dear God,
We are always waiting for the “authorities” in our life to tell us what we need to know. That is so much easier than having faith or trusting in You. Most of the time, the “authorities” we trust lead us in the entirely wrong direction. Faith takes courage, but it also requires action. It call us to conduct our lives as You did with compassion, love, humility, patience, grace and forgiveness. What authority have I been listening to? Give me the boldness and strength to silence all the noise and hear and follow the only authority that matters. Help me, through my faith and trust in You, to be truly known by my Father. Forgive me for my doubt. Open my eyes today, Papa, to see all the miracles, blessings and work You continue to do each day in my life and all around.
I love You, Papa.
