Read John 5:16-47
“Moreover, the Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgment to the Son, that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father, who sent him.” (John 5:22–23)
Dear God,
You sent your only Son to save us. We rejected, rebuked, and crucified Him. Yet you don’t judge any of us. That is amazing. We judge everyone we see. We killed your Son, yet you withhold judgment. Jesus, your Son, felt the crushing pain of a horrible death that we sentenced on Him. One would think that since He is entrusted with all judgment, we would all be damned to hell. But once again, he surprises us with love. He surprises us with grace, mercy, and forgiveness. All we have to do is believe and honor Him as we do His Father. Today, I pray for the ability to withhold judgment and instead love. I pray for people to get to know their heavenly Father through His loving, giving, tender Son, Jesus. I honor my Jesus today and every day, and I thank you, Jesus, for the sacrifice of your life to save mine. What amazing love.
