Read Genesis 49–50.
“But Joseph said to them, ‘Don’t be afraid. Am I in the place of God? You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. So then, don’t be afraid. I will provide for you and your children.’ And he reassured them and spoke kindly to them.” (Genesis 50:19–21)
Dear God,
Thank you for your vivid example of how to forgive and have great, unwavering faith. Joseph’s brothers sold him and wanted to kill him because they were so jealous. Joseph went to prison. He suffered, but he kept his eyes focused on you and your plan. He saw how you provided for him in every circumstance, and in the end, Joseph forgave his brothers and was kind to them. He still wept, though. It still hurt him, yet his faith in you was bigger than his pain. Give me the faith of Joseph, Father. Help me to rise above my pain, see the good that you intended, and move forward with kindness and forgiveness.
I love you, Papa.
