Read Genesis 8–10.
“For in the image of God has God made mankind.” (Genesis 9:6)
“Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.” (Genesis 9:16)
Dear God,
I have seen so many rainbows in the last few years, and this world seems so out of control. Are you trying to speak to us? Are you trying to speak to me? Are we listening? Am I listening? There have been so many losses, and after each, a rainbow appears—the symbol you gave us for the covenant you made with us. Help us to listen! Help us to hear you say, “You are not alone! I have already won the war! Be still and know! Be not afraid. I can do all things! You can have it all.” Remind us of these promises and give us the faith to believe them and the strength to act on them with boldness.
I love you, Papa.
