Meditate on verses 32-46

Dear God,
From the day You entered this world to save us, we questioned and doubted You regardless of of the miracles and healings You performed, and the mercy and forgiveness You showed until Your very last breath. Even seeing didn’t make us believe. Instead, it made us so insecure that we crucified You with criminals. What a shameful day. I would like to think that we have learned and grown from that day. I would like to think that if You were to walk the earth today, we would worship You and treat You like the King and Savior that You are, but I look around me and I’m not so sure we’ve learned anything. I hear people hurling insults at each other sounding like those soldiers. I hear anger, fear, mocking, suspicion and unforgiveness. Year after year, we tell of Your birth, Your death and Your resurrection. Do we consider it just a story or do we learn and live by Your example of great love, mercy, forgiveness and obedience? Even when You were dying on the cross in agony, You were still thinking about us. You were still forgiving sinners like me even though the unthinkable was being done to You. The criminal said, “Remember me when You come into Your kingdom.” All we have to do is ask. All we have to do is accept and receive Your great love and sacrifice. You lived and died to take our crushing sin. You forgave the unforgiveable. You still do. Nothing would stop you. Thank, Jesus, for defeating death for me. Thank You for remembering me every day.

I Love You, Papa.
