Meditate on verses 39-46

Dear God,
I sometimes forget the “anguish” You experienced here on earth. I never forget the cross, but the 33 years You lived being tempted, just like us, and never sinning had to be agonizing. You are strong, obedient, disciplined and confident even when life is excruciatingly hard. Help me to follow Your example and not “fall asleep.” This world is full of pain, sadness, death, war and destruction. It would be so easy to become exhausted in sorrow and just give up, but You didn’t! You faced Your persecutors because You knew the joy that was coming for all of us. Today, Papa, I pray for strength, obedience, discipline and confidence to face whatever comes my way. I pray for Your will, not mine. I. pray that I face the distress of this world with the faith and knowledge of the joy that has already come with the life, death and resurrection of Jesus and the hope and anticipation of His return. Thank You, Papa, for giving us life, hope and joy in an eternity with You.
I love You, Papa.
