Meditate on verses 9-16
Dear God,
How many times have we broken Your heart? It must be so hard to watch us make the same mistake over and over again. It must be so hard to watch us hurt each other out of fear, power, greed and anger. You sent messengers, the prophets, to guide us, warn us and show us the way only to be killed. The leaders at that time thought killing them would keep You away. How wrong they were! You then sent Jesus, Your only Son whom You loved dearly, to guide us, warn us, show us the way, but more importantly to make a way, a direct path to You. I cannot even imagine the pain and despair You felt in sending Your only Son knowing the way He would be treated and knowing the way He would die. I cannot imagine the love You must have for us and this world to make that sacrifice. The leaders at that time thought killing Jesus would keep You away, but Your kingdom was already here when Jesus entered the world fully human. Everything we have on earth is because of Your abundant and never ending love. Help me today to be a steward of Your Kingdom on earth. Help me to be grateful and thankful for the gift of Jesus. Thank You, God, for making the biggest sacrifice ever to be be made so I have a bridge to Your heavenly Kingdom. What love.
I love You, Papa.
