Meditate on verses 20-32
Dear God,
Thank You for speaking to us in these parables making sure we understand things of heaven incomprehensible to us. I have been on both sides of this story in my life. I have been the angry brother, doing everything that I should, obeying, worshiping, working and being accountable and responsible for my life. I have also been the unruly child. I’ve left You, run from You, ignored You, hid from You, sinned against You and felt such crushing guilt and shame that I thought I was too far gone, too stained, too broken, and too unworthy to ever be loved by someone as great as You. Why would You me? You answered that question in Luke 15:7 by saying, “there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.” What an amazing love You have for us. What side of the story are we on today? Thank You, Lord, for showing us that You will find us wherever we are. You always will be with us when we are whole. But when we are broken, You will stop at nothing to seek us, pursue us and bring us home to You. Today, I pray for all the lost sheep, the lost brothers and sisters. Come home. His love is greater than any sin. Receive Him and He will make you whole.
I Love You, Papa.
