Read Luke 11
Meditate on verses 9-11
Dear God,
It’s the time of year for gift giving.  We spend so much time and money trying to pick out perfect gifts for each person on our list.  We try to pick gifts that will surprise, encourage and make our loved ones feel special, appreciated and most importantly loved.  We ask for Christmas lists and do our very best to purchase each and every item possible.  What are we asking of You this year?  Have we even asked You for anything?  I know how much time and energy I put into gift giving for my children.  I cannot even imagine how much more You would love to give us, Your kids!  Does it break Your heart that we don’t even ask?  Does it feel like we aren’t even looking for Your help anymore?  Does it seem like less and less people are knocking at the door of our Creator?  You are the inventor of gift giving!  You have so much to give us!  Direction, love, forgiveness, acceptance, salvation, life, mercy, grace and friendship are only a few examples.  All we have to do is ask and it will be given.  All we have to do is seek You and You will be found.  All we have to do is knock on Your door and it will be opened wide.  Today, Lord, I will stop the shopping that is draining my soul, emptying my pocketbook and stealing my time and start asking You for the things of You that fill my soul.   I will start asking, seeking and knocking at Your door and be awed by how much more You have to give me than this world does.  Thank You for being so much more.  Thank You for being my everything.
I love You, Papa.
