Dear God,
Women during this time period had very restrictive roles in society, yet form the beginning Jesus surrounded Himself with them, included them, healed them and cherished them. He chose broken men and women to do His work. He didn’t come for the righteous, He came fore the poor, sick and broken. He came for anyone willing to receive Him as their Savior. When Jesus was born, the good news was first delivered to lowly shepherds who were tending their flocks. Now Jesus has chosen poor, broken men and women to teach and mold in tending His flock. He tells us that, “My mother and brothers are those who hear God’s word and put it into practice.” Thank You, God, for including me in Your circle. Thank You, Jesus, for Your healing , Your acceptance, Your patience and Your love. Thank You for the invitation to be Your mother, brother, sister or friend. Allow me to accept this tremendous invitation, learn from my Shepherd and put God’s words into practice! Help me to be like the original women helpers and spread God’s word throughout this dark world. Help me to invite others so that together we can bring the light of Jesus Christ to many and light up the darkness!
I love You, Papa.
