Dear God,
What a beautiful story about the beginning of Your ministry through Your Son, Jesus.  What a beautiful story showing us how You choose broken people to do Your work.  You chose Simon’s boat.  When You asked him to let down the nets again after he already had a long day of catching nothing, he said “yes.”  Simon was the professional here, thinking he knew best, so his response was, “But because you say so, I will let down the nets.”  That’s when his transformation began.  By the time this fishing escapade was over, Simon had a new name (Peter), a new calling, a new hope and a Savior.  This only began with Simon saying, “yes.”  What are You asking of me, Lord, and am I giving You the old response of Simon with doubt and hesitation or am I giving You the response of the new Simon-Peter falling at Your feet, putting my boat on the shore, leaving everything comfortable and following You?  Help me to leave the old behind so that I may become new in You. Help me to answer Your call with a confident “Yes”, a new hope, and a strong faith that leads me to You, my Savior.
I love You, Papa.
