Read Luke 3

Dear God,
What a plan You had for Jesus, Your Son.  We usually wait for grandiose things to happen in our lives in grandiose ways.  Everyone was expectantly waiting for a Messiah, a Savior.  They wondered if it was John the Baptist.  They never expected the Messiah would show up to get baptized!  Today, Papa, help me to realize that You work in Your own way, in Your own time and impossible things become possible.  The Savior of the world was born in a dirty stable with the fanfare of animals.  The shepherds were the first you chose to share the news of Your Son.  Now, He shows up to be baptized.  The next time I doubt Your plan for my life, let me remember these events.  Help me to be aware of the ordinary events happening around me and allow me to see them become extraordinary.  That’s when I will see You!
I love You, Papa.
